Education

I am a proud graduate of Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Religion. I was the President of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education. I have an ESOL endorsement through SEU and a gifted endorsement through Middle Georgia RESA.

Experience

I feel like I have been an educator for most of my life. This is my fifth year teaching professionally, my second year in Crawford County. I began my education career in Florida teaching first grade. I moved to Georgia in 2009 where I taught for 2 years in Troup county. I had my son in 2011 and stayed at home with him for three years before I returned to teaching full time in 2014.

I am proud to be leading the gifted program (Visions) at Crawford County Elementary. Please visit our website for more information about the CCES Gifted program and to see all the amazing things we are doing in Visions this year!

Bio

Hello! My name is Katherine Alexander.  I am originally from Jacksonville, Florida where I was born and lived most of my life. When I got married in 2005, my husband and I moved to Lakeland, FL where I finished my college education while he attended seminary in Orlando. We moved to Winter Springs, FL and then back to Lakeland before finally moving in Georgia in 2009.

I am the mother of a very spirited little boy named Derek. He is four years old and the light of our lives. My incredible husband's name is Jeremy. We currently serve the Howard Charge of the United Methodist Church in Taylor County where Jeremy is the pastor of 5 churches. We live in a lovely parsonage in Howard, GA. My husband and I have both served on the mission field. I have been in Kenya, Africa; Hong Kong and Beijing, China; and we have both served in Brazil. I have approximately 1,176 things on my to-do list at any given moment. I want to spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors. I LOVE Coffee! I dream to be completely self-sustainable. I love animals. We have backyard chickens, a mini-dachshund named Tempo, a turtle named Tiny Tim and a few goldfish. I love God and I love people.
