I have been teaching for 19 years - all here in Crawford County!  I am originally from Wilkes County but went to school at Mercer University.  I met my husband of 21 years there and we still live in Macon.  We have 13 year old triplets who keep me very busy.  I am active in my church, in the choir and children's ministries.

Professional Experience:

As mentioned before, I have taught here for 19 years.  Within those years, I have served as grade level chair, served as an EIP teacher, been involved with the leadership team for DIBELS administration and served on various committees.  Just this year I have been inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma - a professional educators sorority.

I attended Mercer University and graduated with a Music degree in 1993.  After I was married, I decided to go back to school for my Education degree.  I received Elementary Education degree from Mercer University in 1998.

Educational Motto:

All students can learn.  Can't is a bad word in my class!  It may take some students longer or some may go faster, but we are all learning and WILL learn.  I always want to provide my students with a safe and fun environment at school so they feel special and want to do well.  I believe that reading is important, no matter what level a student might be on.  There is always a book out there that each student is interested in and CAN read!
