Hello, my name is Melissa Valtierra.

I want to begin by saying that I am so excited to be supporting teaching and learning at Crawford County Elementary School!  This is my fifteenth year teaching in Crawford County.  I’ve taught third, fourth, and fifth grades.

I was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama and attended Troy State University.  I moved to Macon shortly after graduation to begin my teaching career.

I enjoy learning and try to instill a love of learning to my students as well.  In 2005 I received my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wesleyan College.  I received my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Development from Georgia College and State University in 2010. I am currently working on my Specialist Degree in Leadership through Columbus State University.

I love working with the students, parents, and teachers at Crawford County Elementary School.  The students are so talented and full of creativity.  I look forward to a wonderful and exciting year!
